Supercharged Hood

I've never looked under the hood of any Mercedes, or Jag that had them so I really don't know there actual purpose.
Because if it's to introduce cool air into the intake, then it would probably not work as well as the factory design simply because there is at least 1" of "dead air" that envelopes the whole body of the car as it's moving. The vents would only allow the engine to "suck" cool outside air into the supercharger, as opposed to the stock design that actually offers some "ram air" effect.
As an exhaust vent, it would probably work just fine.
If it's purely cosmetic, then it boils down to what ever floats your boat.

Can we get some photos of the vents sitting on the stock hood in different locations that fit the lines of the hood? I think matching body color or silver matching the side vents would both look great.
Anyone else interested in an inexpensive functional hood!
Thanks

Moparrbust could most likely help you share the part number for the supercharged vents. But beware. I cut a 12" round hole into my THICK steel hood of a 1967 stepside chevy truck because the hood wouldn't shut after installing a LS6-454 marine crate motor. Ended up installing a Trans Am scoop. After cutting the center spine for the hole,The hood was as ridgid as left over spegette. damn, how do you spell that word? I had to weld in extra bracing. If you dare to cut the hood,(Oh My Gosh)Don't cut any factory grooves or creases. Fiberglass hood! Think about it.

I don't know how I missed this. But ironically the 2009 Supercharged Jaguar "XF" has a "ventless" hood.
