Supercharged Hood
Sooo has everyone checked out Moparrbust cool hood project? The AMX hoods great, but just not getting the required 10 orders to produce thru AAR Fiberglass. Think we could get 10 orders of the Jag's XKR styled super charged functional hood with a CENTER spine? Well just 9 orders for I'll be down for one. Early tax filing return? Maybe 10 Confirmed orders by March??????

It my 2002 dakota work truck with the 70's hemi cuda shaker hood. I dont see the similarity but... I have started thinking of using the plasma torch this winter on my hood if I cant get a spare, we all agree that we need a hood. I like a zero height hood scoop, like the NASA Langley air inlets from the 70's, no projections, like that one sketch that had a pair of dropped or lowered inlets.
I will make a mold first to get the concept going before I touch my, as the song goes "Black Betty" hood, fear not. WOODY

I think a functional shaker or blower style hood would be awesome but it would have to flow well with the stock curves, I have a image in my mind but I'm no photoshop expert
.
This is a rough idea behind the hood courtesy of Moparrbust. How awesome would this be for cooling or make those scoops functional!!!

Move the Supercharged holes out more & add some of the ribbing from the old hood ??
I say just add the center spine to match the roof and call it a day. I would buy that in a minute!!! Next would be to line the "supercharged" intakes to go over the factory placement of the air filters and make this baby functional like a WRX. Cut the top of the factory air box, add a little rubber weather stripping and go!

I also think the AMX hood is quite ugly as well and a shaker hood would kill any elegance this car has.
Using Jaguar styling makes sense on a Crossfire.

My only complaint with the stock hood is that its looks way to much like the sebring hood that XKR hood with a center spine added to match the front and top of the car would be very classy.

Actually the AMX hood is not ugly, it is historic and hot in its day. All in the eye of the beholder. I have started getting fiberglas to make up a partial mock up of the hood so that I can get the layout started. I hope saran wrap will release from the hood as I plan to use that as a mold release material to protect the paint when I make the mold.. Well see how this winter progresses on this project.

I think the hood scoop looks really good, but functionality as well as asthetics need to be kept in mind.
I agree with waynesworld move the ports up or out a little more, add the ribs and this would be an awesome looking hood and functional.
