Better than a Countach?!?
OK, ever since I was a kid, I've had an absolute infatuation for the Lamborghini Countach. I think it started when I got a blaze orange Countach Matchbox car. It was - and still is - my favorite Matchbox car.
I was too young to know anything about fast cars, but I knew the Countach looked fast, and something about it just made me want one - bad. I never did look up the performance specs on the old Countach.
Well, I just did. In 1976, the Countach LP400 had a 4.0 liter engine rated at 375 hp, and could hit 0-60 mph in 6.8 seconds.
Hmmm...
I just realized that my SRT-6 is better than a Countach. I've estimated the crank hp at 405 (which bears out with numbers from the dragstrip), and estimated my 0-60 times in under 5 seconds (again from the dragstrip).
No wonder I love my SRT-6 so much. I'm still shocked!
OK, don't burst my bubble here. I know that later models of the Countach were faster, getting that 0-60 time down to 4.7 seconds. But I'm betting I'm still pretty close. And that car is still considered a supercar!
