Unfortunately, unless you spend a ton of money, that seems to be the German way of doing things. Asian cars offer better performance for the money, but their designs and daily drivability can suffer in some cases. It's all about where you spend your money as a manufacturer. I think German cars offer the best balance of everything a car enthusiast looks for in a car. This is the same with the crossfire. Though, I do agree, it could use a bit more pep, but it's still not bad even stock.
As far as a competitor, the solstice will become an even bigger competitor when the hardtop/targa version is released. I really, really liked this version, but I fear that in GXP guise it will be too pricey. Nothing can really touch a crossfire when money is factored in. German design and engineering at domestic firesale prices. What's not to love?
