Default Re: Ceramic Brake Pads

Take this for what it is worth:

Not quite 20K miles ago, I put Advance Auto Parts best rotors and ceramic pads on the front of my Durango. I too, was tired of cleaning front wheels once or twice a week. Every bit as bad as the OEM Crossfire pads.

These ceramics did the trick for me. The front wheels actually looked cleaner than the back wheels when I went to wash them. The new pads totally eliminated any dark dusting. And it stopped just as well as OEM pads I replaced, maybe better.

This week the trouble began. It sounded like metal to metal grinding in the right front. I took the wheel off and half of the inside lining broke away. The other half of the lining and the outside pad was still at least 1/4" thick.

I am replacing the pads with ceramics again, but a different brand. Time will tell.
