Ps, my wife drives the Crossfire most of the time and she says if I sell it she will divorce me, now that's always an option should the going get tough.

Yes I agree, in the UK, the Chysler name was used as a replacement for the Hillman name which was phased out with the demise of the Rootes Group. Unfortunately the cars in that range were rot-boxes, but the engine in the Avenger was good. Just trying to recall the other Chrysler branded cars of the era. Another disasterous name that came out of these developments was the Talbot Avenger. Then came the disasterous Simca 1100 from France, a company that Chrysler bought with regret, and later sold on to Peoguot for a 1p. Then to completely finish of the Chrsler brand in the UK, they lauched the Chysler Alpine against competitors like the Austin Maxi and Morris 1100, and 5 years later most of them all ended up in the scrap yard!
Enter the Datsun Cherry, the rest is history!
