Hi,
I've read that the TPM valve stem batteries are supposed to last 7 years before replacement of the entire valve stem is necessary. The battery can not be simply replaced. If a TPM battery fails before 7 years, it is likely that you will not be able to get the TPM warning light to turn out even though all the tire pressures are correct. My system works okay so far but I understand that the TPM valve stems are pricey.
