I'm not listing a specific suggestion here because I've not found consistant answers depending on the phone, hands free device, and car environment (basically noise).
Obviously the most important consideration is that both sides of the conversation can hear each other well, including while you're driving on noisy roads and highways. All too often only one side of the conversation is in good shape. Second, your setup probably needs to work well for hands free dialing as well (as in: "Call Bob" or "Call work", or "Dial 555-1212").
Parrot, Motorola and BlueAnt all make devices that have reviewed well. And as more and more locales have required hands free - many new devices have come on the market within the past year, so you should have a good number of choices.
Lastly, some people just can't find a combination that works well for their circumstance. In that case, you might try a good noise canceling Bluetooth headset. The Jawbone 2 and the BlueAnt V1 come to mind - but there are many choices. And if that doesn't work for you, a wired headset is always an option too.
Thanks for this. I have contacted a mechanic and he is going to fit a parrot for me which he uses in his own car but he will make sure it links with my phone before he fits it. Thanks again for your good advice.
