Sorry, I really didn't mean to hijack this thread but felt I needed to address the question/statement raised.

I think I know how ya feel.
I to make efforts to get the Chi-town guys together and usually have 7 - 12 attend but the desire to have bigger turn outs is always here.
I always make the most of every meet when we get together.
Although we have never become a club, that to would be a cool thing but I just don't see enough interest in our area to accomplish this.
Hang in there....thing can change.
