Founder resignation

They come inside and see our CTC logo on our shirts and talk to us about our cars. We don't need shirts with logos to have fun, however, sometimes it is more fun because of it. If it is no big thing to be in a club then why are there so many other clubs? There must be something to it or no one would start a club. I even think there are boat clubs, I guess they may even call it a Yacht Club.

Hope to see you at Carlisle.
[quote=Nightrider]Dur to total and dismal response to cruises etc since the Newport cruise I am resigning as a founder of NEX. Three people can not do this alone and the lack-luster responses showing no interest by the membership at large tells us only one thing...why waste your time and efforts.

Only just saw this tonight or would have put my ancient wisdom in much earlier. Having been a member of numerous "clubs, organizations, fellowships, groups, associations etc" and having read every post on this subject, I find the 1 (ONE) common thread cited, each unit has it's Movers and Shakers, and a much higher % of Dividend Takers. Maybe it's a guilt complex or a feeling that if I can't contribute, I don't need to belong.
I sincerely hope all goes well for NEX and your loyal brethren. I joined the CTC a year ago and have seen a roller coaster of attendence at GTGs with no real apparent reason. I do know that every attendee and their significent other at every meet has enjoyed themselves.
BillF has been the stoker of the flames and PAULW the Wagon Master, scouting routes and eateries. New members like MSXFIRE and MRSXFIRE have both become actively involved, while a couple of other new folks have been attending and getting their feet wet.
One thing I've learned through experience is that threats, insults, cheap shots only get the same in return. Not worth the effort, altough don't cross them off completely, better to spend the time on those that deserve it and cultivate new members. I talked to a lady in an AeroBlue Roadster 2 weeks ago in a Supermarket parking lot and went to see her husband who is the Top Cop at a VA Hospital. Today I managed to flag over two Xfires within a 30 minute period and gave them information. None of the individuals had heard of the Crossfire Forum, CTC or CICCI. Whether they wil or will not become members remains to be seen. Bill has made up his own cards and puts them on windshields, prompting 2 new members.
Point is, seek and ye shall find. Maybe not what you want to, but ya never know what's in a box of Chawklets.
Good Luck New England, and don't give up the hunt!

Great meeting. Hopefully we can all have a great cruise season.
I would love to find some Crossfires in Tulsa and get something started. Once a month or something. I have had my crossfire since Oct 2008 and have never met anyone in another Crossfire. Must not be any interest in the Tulsa area. I still love my Crossfire though. It gets a lot of looks. Thanks Les
Get ahold of FP or VALRYDERGUY maybe they can set up an OK forum and put out feelers to those in area. Alot of people look for the comraderie of a group. Need sugeestions or help contact me, crossfire trail, crossfirefun, or blackxfire we will try to help. Let u know what we found successful and flop.
Okalahome...you could load a Solstice with explosives and use it for target practice at the conclusion of a good run & BBQ.
