An easy way to take the desired amount of oil out: stick a shop vac in the fill hole with a rag to give a good seal, unscrew the oil plug and turn the shop vac off to let just a bit of oil come out and restart after desired level is reached, and re-install the plug. I learned this trick at a Jiffy Lube when they had to replace a bad oil plug on my car. If the seal is good you shouldn't even lose a single drop of oil, until you trun the shop vac off.
