On the other hand, an EV that is truly fast and nimble would bust the marketing barrier that all electrics and hybrids have to be clunky. Or look

I really love the idea of a solar roof for a hybrid.
Efficiency and marketing can both agree on this one.
Perhaps the battery weight disadvantage could be turned to an advantage by making it double as a flywheel.
Use the mech energy of the flywheel for short term efficient storage and the btty for longer term storage.
(and if developed this technology would eliminate the need for kickstands.
