If Crutchfield provides the antenna adapter that's great. But one cannot assume that's where the head unit comes from. The adapter is needed - that was why the info was provided. It doesn't come with the head unit from Pioneer.
As an aside, Crutchfield charges list price for everything. I have bought from them when they were the only choice but otherwise I shop price (e.g. my BEL Driver STi is not sold discounted except on eBay with no guarantee). The head unit can be purchased for less even considering the few extras needed that would be bought separately if not purchased from Crutchfield. If you are loyal to Crutchfield, that's great.
(Wh)y use a voltage meter? Because when working with automotive electronics, it's very useful to "know" rather than "guess" what a wire does. I have never regretted having a volt meter. It's a great tool to have in the tool box. Tools are one of the things that separates us from animals... Some of us need all the help we can get...
