As an aside, Crutchfield charges list price for everything. I have bought from them when they were the only choice but otherwise I shop price (e.g. my BEL Driver STi is not sold discounted except on eBay with no guarantee). The head unit can be purchased for less even considering the few extras needed that would be bought separately if not purchased from Crutchfield. If you are loyal to Crutchfield, that's great.
(Wh)y use a voltage meter? Because when working with automotive electronics, it's very useful to "know" rather than "guess" what a wire does. I have never regretted having a volt meter. It's a great tool to have in the tool box. Tools are one of the things that separates us from animals... Some of us need all the help we can get...
HEy brother appreciate the knowledge. Do you know any other sites that sell at a competitive price. I know a few but they sell at bulk price and distro price and I have a friend that oreder from them and the products received were damaged and they did want to refund the purchase. Any help would be appreciated. Gotta lot of work to do and we all know that parts for this car are like buying parts for this car are like putting your child through college...EXPENSIVE.
I always check Amazon, the eBay.
Or, just type the model in on Google and you'll be ovewhelmed.
Yes, Crutchfield sends you everything you'll need for the install. The easiest, but not the cheapest way to go. You can get radio removal tool online or Walmart. The antenna adaptor and even the conversion harness is available online. The instructions for the Crossfire are located several places on this website (best by ppro).
It is not something to fear. It is fairly simple.
