This is way over my head. I love the subject of philosophy and how it affects our lives, but I am no shrink. It sounds like your girl needs a team of specialists. I think medical problems can greatly affect behavior, to the degree that the person can't be held responsible for their actions. Drug abuse is a different story, though.
