Question Something loose behind steering wheel

I can hear something loose in my steering wheel when turning. Almost sounds like a wire loose, rubbing against the hub. I wish to remove the airbag to take a peek.

The service manual and every post I've found regarding the matter says to remove the two screws behind the steering wheel. Problem is, NO one seems to indicate what kind of screws those are. Conveniently, Chrysler (Mercedes) hides the screws from view, so not even a mirror and flashlight worked.

I've tried torx 10, 15 and 20 screwdrivers with no luck. My 25 and 35 torx drivers are too long...

I've tried a socket set with torx bits, but the magnetic bit holder is too wide for the hole.

Has anyone actually succeeded in pulling this thing off? If so, what tool did you use???

Thanks!
