My experience with the SLK32 and so with the SRT-6 is different. I think the manual shift option work fine especially when driving fast up- and downhill or passes in the Swiss mountains. After a while you get used to it, you will know when it shifts and you will be able to manipulate the shifting points by acceleration pedal and shifter. It works very good. I nearly always use it.

Maybe true for you but not for Europe. Here price of the C6 is more than $10k over the SRT-6.
