Not sure if this is the same thing but this winter the de-icing stuff they put on our lot made the lot very slippery after it melted the snow, that "stuff" combined with perhaps some low front tire pressure (my light was on) caused a grinding noise when I backed up and turned the steering wheel. It was definitely a tire grinding on asphalt type of sound. After the rains came and I got some air in the tires it went away. I even noticed this noise to a lesser extent in my wife's Mercedes. I get the same noise when I pull in my garage with wet tires on the treated surface of the garage.
Bottom line you might want to check your tire pressure.
