Actually your right except.. In addition to the HP mods I also have a sprint booster. If your familiar with how these operate (plenty of info on this forum if you do a search) it would have been better to use "drive". When I reached 60mph let up on the gas and slam it.
With a sprint booster and the TVT flash settings this seems to work better. Putting the car in auto shift and starting off in first then flooring it worked with the sprint booster only in first gear. After that the computer took over the shifting. I know Rob over at NeedWings keeps his on autostick in 1st. Then he floors it and lets the car shift. Of course this is at the track and he has a beefed up SRT6 without a sprint booster installed. Many of the forum members have their own opinions about what the sprint booster does and doesn't do. In any case I don't want to debate the sprint booster. It is what it is. I didn't have the control to do anything when floored. Just sit back and look over at the other car and hope for the best. Although there was plenty of power left to continue to 140mph plus. I seriously doubt that he could have hit 140 or 150 plus mph. He was a good car length behind me when I hit 120mph.
