where i'm from and in my city, cops pretty much only use Ka band. some have K band, but not many at all. all the door openers use K / X band, and on different frequencies. of course it's going to vary city by city, but at least for me.. i just mark them in my Radar detector and i never get bothered by them again. if a cop comes by with his radar gun on, Ka band i'm going to know, and if it's K band, it's going to be on a different frequency so i'll get warned anyways. i love it.
