heres a few specs on my car. 2002 slk32 amg. built 06 /02. im the 3rd owner. got the car with 36,000 and small change. upon an inspection at the vegas m/b dealer i/c was said to need replacement. flew out bought the car drove it home with no issues.
upon doing a full fluid swap i decided to swap the pump. futher inspection of the pump showed copper winding failure in 2 spots on the pump. the inside was completely covered in black soot.
i know have a little over 40k on the car with no i/c issues. a search thru mb world or benzworld will show most use the cm30 due to its longevity and superior flow. while this forum may be fairly new to the cm30 it is primarily a marine pump and well proven
if you search the c32 or r170 forums you will find many drivers swapping to the cm30. i cant speak for the stang or lightning guys. im sure most here are aware the slk32 and the srt6 are very similar with the exception of the body. frame driveline suspension brakes are all the same.
the major difference is i have the choice of a hardtop or a convertible!!
