not a good idea. Heat soak, and likely makes really turbulent air since the pipes are dangling there. look for Rob from needswings post on what happens when you take the filters off of these cars.
and i suspect those are foam filters, which i have read start to fall apart and contaminate your engine over time.
it is a REAL SHAME when people use cheap DIY's on such an incredible AMG mercedes motor.
