You know, you could just direct the intake upward into a filter box that mates to a vented hood. Something like this, but further back:



Here's what you do: Cut out a couple of rectangles on the hood that are slightly smaller than the stock filters. Buy 2 SMS billet aluminum vents (see below). Raise the level of the stock airboxes to where the seals will fit flush against the hood when closed. Run the intake pipes to the new airbox positions, and you're good to go.



I don't know if you'll see an increase in HP over any of the other aftermarket intakes, but it will look cool and probably cost less then $100. I've always felt the long run from the front to the back of the hood reduced power and heated the air.
