Default Xfire dies while driving

I have read the threads about xfire not starting but my issue has happened while driving. I will be going along and then loose power and have to pull over. I could not restart the car. I initially thought that it was related to some after market work I had done to the car (GPS/Alarm) and noticed that the harnes had crimped wires. I would touch them (press down on them) and try strating my car and it worked or atleast thats what I thought was the problem. My car has continued to stall while driving and wont initially restart. Today I tried the same fix that had worked in the past and no dice. The car would not start. I waited and thought about calling AAA to come get me and tried starting it again and it started up.

My thoughts are that it might be the Factory Alarm and I thought about pulling the fuse.

Do I need the batteries in my Key if I am not using it as my Alarm? and if so how would I disable it?

any other advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Allen
