I only tighten mine by hand.....as tight as I can make it.

There have been many people who've overtightened the cap while using the strap wrench. Be careful you don't strip the plastic threads, or crack the cap........then I guarantee you'll have a leak.

Also....be absolutely sure you've put the O-rings in their proper spots, the biggest one closest to the cap is easy to put in the wrong place!
