It is a PITA. I gave a short course on this little operation at the Spring Dragon. You should have been there!
You need a pair of large hemostats or 90 degree needle nose pliers. They must turn counter-clockwise 90 degrees to remove. Swap the bulbs and GREASE THE ORING before re-assembly.
Remember that you will also need load resistors on each of them. Both places in my PM to you sell them for a very good price ($6).
