Be CAREFUL, they have helicopters and planes doing flyovers pretty regularly looking for exactly that, I got a ticket not far from there last Dec. 26th, merry Christmas to me I guess.....

In the winter, when it's not so godawful hot, I usually run sans the top and do keep an eye to the sky (always makes for a bad hair day). The obvious warning, tho, is to play by the rules over stretches of pavement marked with the VASR lines.

BTW: It's amazing the things that can get sucked out of the cabin at 120-plus, so best keep your stuff stowed in the trunk. The primary dread of running Alligator Alley at a high rate of speed is just that - running over one of the damn things. Yikes.

But back to my question, can anybody explain to me how and why these cars are governed for speed right out of the box? I don't make a habit of cruising much over 5,000 rpm, but when I do, how and what does the ECU arbitrarily deploy to limit my speed to 150?
