Re: Intake Manifold torque & sequence
Well I did the dual CAI, catch can and y pipe mods this last weekend. Cleaned everything with the Awesome cleaner from the 99 cent store. It worked great and the price was right. The only problem I had was when torqueing the bolts to the 15 lbs. Started in the middle and worked fore and aft. Snapped the pass side forward bolt
and it was after closing on Friday night.
The next morning I called the Chrysler stealer and they had nothing and couldn't find anything other than a special order. Typical!
Next I started in on the MB guys. They were way more friendly to talk to. Anyway they found a dealer with 3 bolts, all the shorter 65mm length. I went out and bought all 3. One for immediate use and 2 for back up all at $11 + change each. Next I had to go to a differnt dealer to get the stock gaskets. I tried using the cork ones with dressing but they kept moving around too much even when I let the dressing get tacky first. Anyway the stock ones worked much easier and better.
The only other issue was the darn power steering coolant lines. Damn hard to disconnect the rubber hoses and when I did fluid went everywhere. I didn't loose too much since I already had the replacement line in there and ready to go. The real problem was getting the stock tube out. I ended up having to bend it to get it out and hope I won't need it again or else I'll have to get a new one.
Sure am having fun with these mods though.
Next isare the pulleys.
Cheers!
