Re: Fuel Injectors / Rail
BIGGER INJECTORS ARE NOT NEEDED.
I went from 17 to 1 f/a ratio to 9 to 1 just be changing the rail pressure.
I did a big writeup showing the results and method to increase the pressure. THe stock regulator has a port that will accept a pressure signal and increase the rail pressure.
I went to 80 psig rail on 20+ psi boost, way too much.
Fuel falls off with higher boost due to the INCREASED boost PUSHING against the injector DECREASING the pressure differential. At idle the 58psig fuel rail is aided by the -10 psig of the intake manifold to give an effective 68 psig differential.
By adjusting the rail pressure I have been producing f/a ratios of about 12.7. I control that DYNAMICALLY by monitoring the f/a ratio WHILE DRIVING with a add on computer. See my signature for coming events............
YOu dont need bigger injectors and I have been to 25 psi boost ratings before I ditched the code three / 178 and went to a STANDARD 185 eurocharged pulley.
