ok, just saw this. I changed the cupholder out in my Roadster about three weeks ago. The airline surprised me because no one mentioned it. The service manual (written for a coupe) didnt mention it.

I simply yanked (gently, I guess) the line off the nipple and removed the cupholder.

THen, simply pressed the line back on the fitting during reassembly.

Now, WHERE did the line break? Was it the line or the lock assembly?
Also, just what difference does it make? I mean, if you damage this line, I'd plug the end and not worry about the console locking. Simply make sure it's in the "unlock" position before you pop the bin in (which I did AFTER re-installing the cupholder-less console).
