Like the title says put a new belt on since the stock one crapped out on me. After my Eurocharged tune i had some great passes with a 12.08 @ 114.8 as the best of two runs that night after the new tune.
Well i went to the track again next week and ran 2 passes a 12.5@ 109 and
12.4@110... I assumed my belt had died and sure enough there wasn't much left of it when i took a closer inspection.
Put a new belt on and still had some strange times,
12.3@110 and and
12.2@111, which i know doesn't sound bad but these are not typical times for my car. Normally when i get 12.2-3 times its 112-113.8 traps before i even got the tune.
I borrowed a friends datalogger to watch the manifold air pressure on a 3rd gear run from 2500rpms-redline and the new belt shows a steady increase in manifold air pressure all the way till redline so i'm positive there is NO slip with this new belt on. No visual signs of belt slip either.
I'm curious what other think of this.
My two thoughts are 1. that when i got the eurcharged tune with the stock worn belt i was slipping some and putting this new belt on is throwing that tune off.
2. Some how doing a few runs with the belt slipping majorly threw something out of wack with the tune and needs to be adjusted?
I'm more inclined to think its the first because that means i got even more power to squeeze out of her
