You need to leave enough rubber from the burnout-pit onto your fender so any thing you pick up after you leave the strip on your run just hits all the rubber you left on the fender from the burnout-pit.

So
1.wax to help remove rubber
2. melt rubber onto fender to protect from chips... j/k
