SRT as daily driver
I'm no longer into saving cars, I buy it to drive it...
I've bee driving my 02 M3 vert daily for the past year and a half.
Well daily from march to november here in delaware and intermittently over the winter. I have another bmw coupe for the winter, and a pickup for snow/ice.
I've always liked the crossfire and the srt is a bargain out there.
thinking about a low milage coupe, but would be driving daily. and i do a fair bit of driving.
I drive 20 mi to work each way and usually once or twice a day go from place to place. I put between 300-500 miles per week on the car.
about 1/2 back roads, about 1/2 highway including 5 lanes of 95. How is the little car on the highway. The ride, how does it feel, etc. darty or stable, big rigs, is it super choppy with the very short wheelbase?
I got rid of my z3 (2000 M car) because was a little scary on the highway, and a little darty, esp where the road had any truck grooving, etc. The M3 however is a bit too 'big' for me. Drives fine on the road, and is fun to wind up, but just never feels small and fun to me. Perhaps a little to civilized. I'm now looking at the Z4M, a z06, or 911 (never had 911 so leaning that way). But for my money I can save 10 grand or more and get a super low milage srt as I can see lots of your guys are truly weekend warriors...
Coupe only, unless i got an extreme deal on a vert. Doing my highway driving I don't seem to have gotten as much use of the convertible top as I do say the coupe with sunroof and simply dropping the windows.
Let me know your experiences....
Thanks in advance...
Joe
