Default Re: Electrical nightmare

I had a friend that I tutored for awhile in the 70's. I was helping him study for an electronics exam when he mentioned that "I can't keep lights in this jeep" and said, "Batteries sure don't last anymore, do they"?

I measured his battery voltage with the engine off and it was just over 14 volts - a little high, but whatever.

He started the engine - I measured over 17 volts at the battery! I told him his voltage regulator was bad.

He put a garage put on a new alternator - problems solved! (Those alternators had the voltage regulator built in, as most do these days.)

Not sure what is up with your seats.
