But i think it is just getting to the point now that there is to many young ones that like to have all the power they can get and use it as much as they can. I think they need to put harsh restrictions on what cops can and can't do.
There is, already, too many restrictions on what Cops can and can't do. The result has not been better policeman or even better relations with the public. in point of fact, the police are so restricted, their job has become even more dangerous and at the same time less effective.

Most patroling officers do so alone now, using technology and communications to back them up. Still, on the scene, they are alone.
Armed with a weapon they can't use most of the time, and their wits, they must be on top of the situation into which they have a sworn duty to go. Given that, you can't fault them when their demeanor is to insist upon being the top dog at every meeting with the public. They must be the alpha, in control and present themselves as the toughest SOB in the valley.

Or they could likely die.

It is hard to be a kind, gentle Ben type, when presented with these odds. A disrespectul public doesn't improve a policemans demeanor.

I'm not preaching here, you all know this already.

How many people remember, right after 9/11? The police were all heroes and for about two days we treated them with the honor and respect they deserve. Hell, we treated each other better for a while. Why is today any different?

Hmmmmm....
