She is awarded with being a hero because she shot a killer? Yes it was very brave to do that because of her 3 year old. But think if a random person had a gun and shot the killer would they be considered a hero. Im not trying to put her down or say it is a stupid thing but I think she is considered a hero because she is a cop.

 

Anyone who shot this alleged (lets be PC here) killer gets my vote as a hero, my only regret is she missed his vitals. More money is going to be wasted on saving him and keeping him in prison and segregated.
We can at least hope he finds the changing of his dressings is quite painful, nurses can be quite subtle in these things. I have seen them treat OD's not too much sympathy shown.
My sympathies go out to all those affected by this horror.

My point would be, that most law enforcement officers would put themselves in danger of mortal harm to "Protect and Serve". I am not sure if they think it out, or just do it out of training.
It is a job most people would not even consider doing. It is mostly a thankless job.
I for one am glad there are those who will answer that call.

And as with any profession, there are those who are just an embarrassment to the good ones. I ask, Why do we only remember the bad ones?

 

Most police and fire officers do not think about whether or not to place themselves in danger at each and every incident. Most of them made that decision long before they met an active event.

There is simply too many decisions that must be made quickly in a threatening situation to spend any time pondering the purpose of one's presence at a potentialy lethal evolution.

That is why we should thank all of them, including servicemen and women. Not for what they have done but for what they are willing to do.

I can't even believe this thread is still here...entertainment I can live without...5 yrs w/ SPD, 21 yrs w/ CPD, 5 yrs HCSO...you will never make these people like cops, trust me...we don't care for their type much either...some never learn...'nough said..
