No matter who was around or where I was at. The law says that I shouldn't except for around ranges and silly places like that because of the danger. I'll bet that you would be the first person to complain if you thought that I might endanger you or your family. It is not so much how fast you go most times it is the difference in speed between vehicles that causes some of the worst crashes. A lot of people out there are not as good as a driver as you apparently think you are and don't react to your fast moving vehicle as you might expect them to. I have been a professional Fire Fireghter for 25 years and never get used to seeing the carnage caused by people that flirt with the laws because they want to and have ben doing it that way since forever and nothing has ever happened. Your turn will come one day my friend and you will be the one who says why did that happen to me.
Excuse me. You must have just joined and do not know me well. So, please don't presume what I would do.

I said nothing about ***** nilly racing down city streets full of children. And yes, if you drove imprudently down my street you might be confronted by an old cogger wielding a shovel. There is an old saying "Don't screw with old guys, they would just as soon kill ya."

But we have many miles of Interstates designed for high speed travel with obscenely low speed limits. Most traffic commonly travels a bit above the speed limit. The county speed limit where I live is 55 unless posted otherwise. Some roads that's suicidal so safe and prudent is always the best policy.

Or are you suggesting that when the National limit was 55 you never went faster?

Yeah, right!

BTW, As I stated, if you knew me....I was a paramedic firefighter for many years. I saw plenty. The lesson; Speed doesn't kill, stupidity does.

Been driving 50 years. Not one speed related accident on my record.

To the point of this thread, if and when the officer pulls me over for pushing the limit, I am polite, respectful and thank him for being a professional. Don't do the crime if you won't pay the fine.
