Honestly, I don't trust any power lock system. I wouldn't leave the keys in it even knowing how the system works.

I am just telling you that I thought my car was self locking about a year ago. It drove me crazy until the dealer explained how everything worked. Sometimes you do things a certain way and don't remember (that was the case with me). I had no idea what I was doing... all I knew was that my door kept locking on me and I didn't know why. Now that I understand the system and how it works... everything is ok.

The car knows if you open the door! If the car is locked and you unlock it but don't open the door, it will relock itself. Remember that!
