I'm thinking total loss too but let me give you 2 things that should make you feel a little better.......
First you weren't hurt. I have a couple of friends who were coming back from the Indy 500 a few years ago in a Mustang convertible, they spent a week in the hospital because the deer landed on them after it messed up the front of the car.
Second - be glad you didn't swerve to miss Bambi and hit a fixed object like a fence or a telephone poll. That would have added insult to injury because instead of a comp claim you 'd be looking at a collision claim and that would make your insurance go up.
