I agree!! I'd be mad as hell to see my baby being treated like that.

What was the total estimate for the repairs? It's to bad they didn't total it, pay you off and sell it back to you, cheap.

For sure, mine was not near as bad as that one and my estimate was 5600 bucks (no pun intended) That thing should be very near being totalled.

Hate to see or hear about that. In the Hill Country in Texas the deer outnumber the people.
I won't drive at night unless absolutely necessary.
A simple question....how may of you have spent $5.00 for deer whistlers?
I can't vouch for them working, but knock wood, I haven't hit one while I've been using them.

Yeah ... I guess you're right Mike ! If you amplify and broadcast a deer whistle at 300 db, I venture to guess they would work just peachy !!!

Thought this might help, a lot of research here on deer whistles and why they don't work as advertised.

Internet BMW Riders - Deer Whistles, they don't work!

320x200 uncooled microbolometer arrays now cost about $2000. Given the cost associated with fixing a car on a deer strike, it might be worth the cost (as long as you're living the US )

How do they work?
I googled "microbolometer arrays" — and got a physics lesson? Looked like one of my son's college text books.

Well... Thanks for your concern everyone....

Believe it or not, my baby is still in the shop... Yes, 4 months later and were still waiting on parts.

Insurance has done nothing to help expedite the process and is not even willing to waive my $250 deductible because "it's not their fault the parts are slow getting here". As of today, all the parts are in except the plastic retaining clip for the ABS module which was damaged when the hood prop rod was shoved through the wiring harness.

The body shop transported her over to the local Chrysler shop to do the engine work. A good friend of mine is working on her and could rewire the harness in under an hour but needed a new clip. Well, you cant buy just the plastic clip, you cant buy just the ABS harness.... You have to buy the main engine harness, an additional $3520. Obviously the adjuster was not happy to hear that repairs on my sub $13k car were now well over $10k. Therefore they made the shop look around for a junker to pull the connector off of. They located one and had it shipped over, only to find out that they had mis-communicated the year and somehow the clip was different. So last week they put in an order for a custom made clip from a shop in Florida, which should be in this week. As soon as the harness is back together, front pulley's and serpentine changed and everything under the hood is back in, she goes back to the body shop to be sprayed... Still at a loss for what to do so I feel like I even got a remotely good deal out of all this...

I can't upload a pic for some reason so I'll give you a public link to my facebook pics... This was last week...
