3. You do not have to cut off the end. Once you have the entire unit out, you will see a spring loaded hatch near the end of the shaft. Just open this hatch and take out the spring and pin then close the hatch.
Ok this is where I'm at right now.
I took some pics of where I'm at. I have the ignition out, but now I just need to know what exactly the part is where you're talking about a "Spring loaded hatch".
