Rear wheel bearing and special tools?
I thought maybe I had a bad tire but switched them side to side and I still have the same noise in the left rear. Directional tires running backwards are really really quiet!
Anyway I suspect I have a noisey left rear wheel bearing when weight is shifted to it. Nothing dangerous yet, no play or roughness when turning by hand. The bearing can be bought for around $60 Timken. The manual lists two special tools, 9181, 9199 needed to do the job. Anyone own these tools and are they really needed? Anyone done this job before? Do I really need these tools or will a press do the same thing?
Any tips would be greatly appreciated. James
