To be honest !! I ran mine to the fuse panel on the left side of the dashboard. I tried the rear light thingy...and I'm all thumbs. For me to run the wire to the panel was the easiest way for the light. DRAW BACKS....once the head lights are on...so is the windbreaker LED's. No way to turn them off on their own. I'm sure you can get a ON/OFF switch fairly cheep or even a dimmer switch you can mount just below or to the left of the LED's. The only problem...if you can call it a problem is when I go to back up at night. I have to really concentrate through the lite windbreaker. From what I understand there's even a switch available that will, once the car is placed in reverse will automatically turn the LED's off temp to allow clear vision. I have yet to explore that................but yeah for me to power the LED's it was WAY easier to run the wires to the fuse panel on the left of the dash...tucking the wires behind the molding and the door kick panel and up behind the left drivers side kick panel. Worked perfect, you can't tell the wire is even there.....
