I have to admit that I used to be of the mindset that the spoiler actually contributed to the handling of the car when at speed, but after finding out that it only provided 40lbs of downforce at 80mph I quickly changed my mind. As neat as it is to think that we've got an active spoiler that is actually beneficial, 40lbs just isn't that much and won't hardly make a difference in the handling - even when braking.
