Shut off spoiler?
I have to admit that I used to be of the mindset that the spoiler actually contributed to the handling of the car when at speed, but after finding out that it only provided 40lbs of downforce at 80mph I quickly changed my mind. As neat as it is to think that we've got an active spoiler that is actually beneficial, 40lbs just isn't that much and won't hardly make a difference in the handling - even when braking.
i've had my spoiler fuse pulled since ownership for nearly a year and a half. no problems here...just a cleaner look from the rear.
i might run up to 100 on occasion...still feel stable as always.

I have concerns about winter-ice freezing it closed. I assume the motor has a pressure limit (eventually give-up if its frozen or otherwise stuck in the closed position) instead of just burning out the motor. But, anyone know for sure? Or, just want to try it out on their's?

I was also worried about it freezing and burning out the motor, however, I have found it to go up and down without issues in up to -38 C. I wouldn't wash it and just take it out, without making sure that you have wiped all the water off under the wing though. Mine goes up at about 60 mph.
wlincourt's comment about pulling the fuse and the tone going off at around 85 mph seems to be what all the others said in previous posts also.

If you have an accident and the insurance company find out you had pulled a fuse on what Chrysler says is a "Safety" feature with the spoiler, lord help you...

Doesn't rain here at -38 C.
I also agee with you on the saftey deal, I just use my spoiler as DC intended.
I don't have any issues with the little spoiler. I am going too fast when it's up to worry about how it looks. When I'm going slow enough for people to get a good look, it's down already. Unless you drive an SRT-6!
