I'm man enough to admit it: I owned a Chevette.

We were just married, two kids - no money. Got a brand new 1983 two door for $5100. Put 86,000 miles on it and never even bought it brake pads (well, it was a stick...).

It was the last of the line, didn't look all rounded like the early ones. Chevy built a good, cheap car - and we gor 32 to 35 mpg with it. I still think it was a nice looking car.
