Re: Master key
I just purchased a used (mint-must have been a previous owner's midlife chrisis car) White 2004 XF with 3153 miles for $23K here in Tampa, FL. I ran into the same thing with the dealer... only one key. I beat them up enough on the price and said screw it and went to the Chrysler dealer yesterday. The key (in the system) was $170 and will be duplicated from the master on file in Germany. It will take 5 weeks to receive. The cost to program the two keys (due to the chip security in the key) will be another $40. The key will go in my safe for a rainy day. Better to have it now than lose the main key and be without the ride for a month.
