The dealer did take advantage of you. As noted, K&Ns are about $35-40 each but I found this site (doing a simple search on the OEM part number) and found Frams for less than $11/each. They might even be stocked, or available special order, from your local auto parts store. BTW, the OEMs filters are Mann with a M-B part number A112-094-03-04. The Mann part number may be C2861. Replacement is a simple matter of lifting off the silver engine cover and carefully removing the 6 (8?) screws on each side to get at the filter. It's a good opportunity to do some additional engine cleaning while everything is more exposed. I found another site that cross referenced the Mann number to a Fram CA9689. The vehicle takes two (2) filters.
