Default Put the new parts on

First I want to thank tighed1 for the super cooler and Rob for his Needswings dual CAI. You don't want do this job without plenty of time unless you've done it before. The part I was most worried about was the easiest. (taking the nose off the car) Saturday I got the super cooler in but I was so hot and tired (were suffering through a harsh winter .... hot) that I put the nose back on and made plans for day 2. Day 2 I discovered the nose had to come off again to get the power steering lines out. I spilled power steering fluid all over the ground from the bottom hose. I had turned it up and propped it but while I was trying to get the power steering lines out it fell and all the fluid ran out before I saw what was happening. But I didn't spill a drop from the old lines. Thats when I decided to take the nose off again. That was a downer, for sure.

The Y for the dual CAI was bumping up against the brake booster vacuum line on the drivers side and there was no way it would fit without interference so I called Rob and in half an hour we were talking on the phone. He offered to send a new one immediately but I decided to trim it. I took off 1/2 inch from the throttle body side and now it clears the booster line. (still touches but without pressure.) Today I got the power steering fluid, filled it up and went for a ride. First impressions were so so. Then I really went for a ride and the car is slower than ever. The tires just spin at any rpm at full throttle in first and second. I can't imagine how fast the car will be it if ever hooks up again. I'm very impressed with the results. I still have some adjusting to do and I kept the super cooler attached to the cooling system for now. I'll get it separated soon.

Rob has won my future business. There's nothing more comforting than knowing that if you have a problem, you can get in touch and he'll pop the hood on his car while talking to you on the phone and offer up a solution "flash".

Thanks Rob!

Les
