Re: End of the Crossfire
I never ceased to be amazed at how perceptions change. This fabulous car was designed, concieved and produced in record time.. why, mainly because all the working parts are tried tested and to a greater extent excellent quality. The car is then built to German standards, on the same production as Porsche.. and personally I think the build is excellent too. so now we have an eye popping car, built to truly world class standards, that only a very few people have ever heard of.. and with a wonderfully low production run... we then get given the best warranty Chrysler offers, and a free loan car every time it takes a trip in to the shop. we have dealers call us after each service to make sure were happy... we then have the amazing experience of driving a car on the streets which turns heads everytime you drive anywhere.... is it any wonder those dear journalists are besides themselves..what can they say, everyone loves the cars looks.. worse it was designed by an American company that really knows design... and is full of German bits.. they think its cheating, because the sum of the parts is greater than the whole... its not meant to be like this.. I mean how can a car conceived like this be better than its original SLK320 ..answer .. "Better by Design"
So now we complain that its not holding value, define value.. "Quality is remembered long after the price has been paid" ..maybe it should have been priced at the fabled $60k and all would be well.. the boy racers would have passed it by for the sloppy built 350Z, and it would compete on even terms with the SLK320, Infiniti, and Lexus..etc etc..
Personally I think Chrysler is using this car as an experiment...they were never sure that both sides of the new corporation could work together in harmony.... if this and the 300 is anything to go by, if I were Ford or GM I would be a very worried exec indeed.
.... and the more gas prices rise the better we are to own one.. thank you Chrysler for taking us out of the world of inane boring vehicles..and treating us to such a lovely machine.
